HARLEY DAVIDSON CELEBRATES WOMEN RIDERS
1000 women ride Parade through Milwaukee.
Leiderdorp (Holland), May 31, 2010 – On May 22 & 23, the American city of Milwaukee, place of birth of Harley-Davidson, belonged to the women Harley riders. More and more women ride a Harley-Davidson and this only became more apparent at the International Women Rider’s Month Weekend in Milwaukee, US.
They partied for two entire days at the Harley Museum, with live music, the possibility to visit the museum and take a demo ride, but also seminars and many activities like the ‘Thrill of the Throttle’ (for those who do not ride yet;) ride a Harley without actually moving and experience the thrill without a driver’s license. And what about this one to take the road in full confidence; the ‘Bike Lift Seminar’ that teaches you how to simply and safely put your bike up again on your own.
“This so cool, so many women on bikes. I love it!” said a very enthusiastic Karen Davidson, great granddaughter of one of the Motor Company’s founders. After the opening ceremony at the H-D Museum downtown Milwaukee, thousands of female riders left the parking lot to ride the Parade, led by – who else! - Karen with her Fat Bob.
This all female rider Parade on these many Harley-Davidson bikes captivated huge attention. Many ladies wore pink gear or accessories witnessing their support to the fight against breast cancer. H-D actively supports this battle through the Pink Label Collection in the United States. Part of the proceeds will be dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Karen Davidson
The Parade led to downtown Milwaukee where it transformed into a Street Party with live bands, foods and drinks, stands, but most of all the warm atmosphere of friendship and conviviality. The participants were mainly female, but men were welcome too. With participants from countries like Holland, Italy, France, Austria, Rumania, Mexico, Brazil and even Australia this second edition of the Women Rider’s Month Weekend in Milwaukee turned out to be a huge success.
