MCE INSURANCE & TAKE CONTROL OFFER FREE TRAINING

Four Midlands counties will now offer free rider training, thanks to a new deal with Official Title Partner for the British Superbike Championships, MCE Insurance.

The ‘Take Control’ courses are available to anyone who lives in or travels through Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire or Shropshire.

Three of the courses are already free and would suit young and inexperienced riders looking to take the next step up from CBT, or from an automatic machine to a geared bike. Two further full-day courses for 125 riders and more experienced riders on larger bikes are offered at a subsidised rate of just £30, but this cost can now be recovered.

Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Officer, Stephen Rumble, explains;-

“After completing any one of the Take Control training courses, existing MCE policyholders can claim a £30 discount at their next renewal. Anyone taking a new policy with MCE will be able to claim a 10% discount on the annual premium. For those that pay the subsidised fee, this will effectively reduce the cost from very little to nothing and the deal is even better for those taking up a free course. We have about 650 courses available between now and April next year“.

Director at MCE Insurance, Dominic Edwards, added:-

'MCE are passionate about the fun in motorcycling but we are also well aware of how vulnerable motorcyclists are. Anything that MCE can do to promote rider training and reduce casualties - as well as insurance claims - is good for everyone. We are proud to be supporting the Road Safety Partnerships in Warwickshire and West Mercia and have reduced our insurance premiums for riders who complete Take Control training in the region“.

Take Control courses can be booked by calling 90-One Rider Education on (0845) 370 91 91.

MCE Insurance are also supporting this year’s free Heart of England Bike Show at Gaydon in Warwickshire on Sunday 9th May and the Take Control team will be taking bookings at the event.
